County-Level Certificates
If your county issues EMS or fire certificates that are not valid elsewhere in your state, AngelTrack can handle it.
In California, and in other jurisdictions which issue county-level certificates, you can use AngelTrack's county-level certificate tracking features.
Before proceeding, please read the Crew Certificates Guide to familiarize yourself with AngelTrack's normal (state-level) certificate tracking.
Availability
This feature is always available to all users on all AngelTrack servers. Any crew certificate can be designated as county-level, or redesignated as a state-level or national-level credential.
A certificate's county designation -- if any -- is made on the Certificate Edit page, accessible by clicking any certificate ID appearing in any certificates grid in AngelTrack.
Shift Capabilities Calculation
A shift's capabilities are calculated using all of the following:
-
The vehicle's max capabilities; and
-
The effective practice levels of the crew members on board.
Each crew member's effective practice level is calculated from all of the following:
-
All valid nationwide certificates;
-
All valid statewide certificates;
-
Any valid CPR card, per CPR requirements setting (in AngelTrack's preference settings); and
-
All valid county certificates issued by the county of the station at which the shift is posted.
For each certificate type (e.g. BLS, ALS, wheelchair, fire 1, fire 2), a valid county-issued certificate overrides any valid state-issued certificate; likewise, a valid state-issued certificate overrides any valid nationwide certificate.

State Reporting
When AngelTrack reports a call to the county or state, it must calculate and report the practice levels of all crew members onboard, by looking at all their certificates which apply inside the jurisdiction state and county of the call.
This is done automatically, so that crew members need not re-specify their certificates on every chart.
For this calculation, AngelTrack uses the jurisdiction state and the jurisdiction county, and calculates each crew member's practice level within that state and county according to the certificate supercedence rules listed above. That means county-level certificates override state-level certificates, and state-level certificates override nationwide certificates.
