Kno2 Integration

AngelTrack integrates with Kno2 to provide one-click sharing of PCRs with hospitals and affiliates.

Configuration

You must already have a Kno2 account.

To configure AngelTrack to make use of it, visit the Kno2 Configuration item under Settings. You must have Administrator or Captain privileges in AngelTrack to proceed. Follow all the instructions on the page. When you're done, and you click "Save", AngelTrack will briefly test the integration credential, and let you know if there are any problems.

If your organization already has its own Assigning Authority OID, and you would like AngelTrack to use that on your patient records instead of the Assigning Authority OID built in to your Kno2 account, you can do so; simply enter it into the configuration page in AngelTrack.

Sending a PCR as a Direct Message

From the PCR's "Email" button, your crews can use Kno2 to send the PCR as a Kno2 Direct Message. They can send it to the origin facility, or to the destination facility, or to the billable affiliate, if any of the aforementioned have a Kno2 address on-file in AngelTrack.

A dispatcher or supervisor must input the Kno2 address into the facility's or affiliate's record ahead of time. Kno2 addresses look like email addresses, but in AngelTrack you must select "Kno2" as the messaging address type from the picklist next to the address field.

Every Kno2 direct message must have a FROM address. For this, you must have at least one active address in your Kno2 account's "Document Sources" list of addresses. If there is more than one active address in your account, then AngelTrack will preferentially use the one nicknamed "AngelTrack" if any, else it will preferentially use addresses that have no users assigned.

PDF versus CDA attachments

Some Kno2 recipients cannot receive the PDF attachments that AngelTrack would normally send. To solve this, AngelTrack automatically wraps all PDF attachments in CDA wrappers which most Kno2 recipients can accept.

If you have a certain recipient who doesn't want CDA, and instead prefers to receive ordinary PDFs, then edit that recipient's facility record and chose the "Kno2 PDF" address type as their messaging address, rather than the "Kno2" address type.

Sending a PCR as a Fax

From the PCR's "Email" button, your crews can use Kno2 to fax the PCR to the origin facility, or to the destination facility, or to the billable affiliate, if any of the aforementioned have a fax number on-file in AngelTrack.

A dispatcher or supervisor must input the fax number into the facility's or affiliate's record ahead of time.

You must have at least one outgoing fax number configured and active in your Kno2 account's "Document Sources" list of fax numbers. If there is more than one active fax number, AngelTrack will preferentially use the one nicknamed "AngelTrack" if any, else it will use the first one in the list.

Kno2 will provision your first send/receive fax number when initially deploying your account. If you want additional fax numbers, or a special fax number just for AngelTrack's use, you must request it from Kno2.

Automatic Send to Destination

Your crews always have the option to send their report to the origin, to the destination, to the billable affiliate, and/or to the patient, whenever they wish.

AngelTrack will automatically send the report to the destination when the crew first submits the completed PCR to QA, when all of the following are true:

  • AngelTrack's Kno2 integration is active;
  • The destination facility has an email address, Kno2 Direct Messaging Address, or fax number on file; and
  • It's the first time the PCR is being submitted to QA.

This may result in the destination receiving multiple copies of the PCR. All copies sent before submission to QA will be marked "Tentative," while any copy sent upon or after submission to QA will be marked "Complete".

Sending Invoices via Kno2

Because every Kno2 transmission must have one and only one associated patient record, Kno2 cannot be used to send invoices.
