Philips Tempus Pro Monitor Integration / IntelliSpace Corsium

AngelTrack can pull case data from your Philips Tempus Pro monitors, via the Philips Corsium cloud service

Philips.300x100

Configuration Checklist

  1. Input each Tempus Pro monitor into AngelTrack's Devices and Equipment List.
When you do, set the "Manufacturer" to "Philips", and carefully input the serial number.
  2. Contact Philips and activate your Philips/Corsium account, if not already done.
  3. In your Philips/Corsium account, issue a web-API credential (username and password) for use by AngelTrack. Select "None" for the double encryption option; it is not needed, since all data exchanges will occur over HTTPS. From Corsium you can then email the web-API credentials to yourself.
  4. Return to AngelTrack and visit the Philips Configuration item under Settings. Input the Philips web-API URL, web-API username, and web-API password that you issued earlier, and click "Save". Note that these credentials are NOT the same as the URL, username, and password with which you login to Corsium; instead, the web-API URL will look like this:
    https://corsium.com/WebAPI/xxxxxxxxxxx

...where "xxxxxxxxxx" is your provider name as registered in Corsium.

  5. Configure each Tempus Pro monitor to automatically upload its data to Philips/Corsium.
  6. Make sure each Tempus Pro monitor has got the correct date and time set, as this will be used by AngelTrack to match up the Philips case with the AngelTrack dispatch.
  7. If your monitors are assigned to specific vehicles, then add them to the equipment lists for those vehicles, using the respective Vehicle Edit pages.
  8. Teach your crews that they can activate the Philips download function by visiting the PCR E.C.G. page, picking the correct monitor from the list, and then clicking the gold lightning-bolt.

Limitations

AngelTrack does not pull data from what Philips calls "Live Incidents". Instead, the crew must close out the case in their monitor, and wait for it to upload everything to Corsium, before importing the data into AngelTrack.

AngelTrack's Philips downloader pulls and imports all data for the following events:

  • TWELVE_LEADS (including vital signs)
  • WAVEFORM (vital signs)
  • DEFIB_SHOCK
  • DEFIB_PACING

AngelTrack does not pull the other event types, because the monitors sometimes create large numbers of these and they do not fit well into the NEMSIS specification in which your state trauma registry expects a few well-populated PCR records, rather than a large number of sparsely-populated records.

For each of the aforementioned events, AngelTrack will create a PCR Vitals record with all available data filled out. If the snapshot contains any strips, or shocks given, then a matching PCR ECG record will be created alongside it, containing the strip image.

Philips/Corsium imposes a 72-hour limit on case retrieval; after 72 hours, AngelTrack is not allowed to retrieve the case data; thus the crew must perform their PCR bookkeeping within that time period.

AngelTrack imposes a hard limit of 50 records (50 PCR Vitals + 50 PCR ECG) per case imported.

Crew Instructions

Crews will use AngelTrack's PCR ECG page to pull data from their Philips Tempus Pro monitor. The configuration checklist above must be completed first.

To proceed:

  1. Make sure that the monitor's date and time are set correctly.
  2. Ensure that a crew member presses the monitor's "Camera/Waveform/Snapshot" button at appropriate times during the trip to collect 12-lead snapshots with vital signs. They should also know the circumstances under which the monitor will automatically collect a twelve-lead (which includes vital signs).
  3. Make sure the monitor has closed the case, and already uploaded all case data to Philips/Corsium.
  4. Visit the PCR ECG page.
  5. Check the time slider at the bottom of the form to make sure the time on-scene is input correctly in the PCR. AngelTrack uses the time arrived on-scene to search for the matching case in the Philips repository. The case reported by the monitor must have a start-time that falls between the time arrived on-scene and the time returned to service, otherwise AngelTrack won't be able to find it. Therefore you must not start a new case on your monitor until you've arrived on-scene.
  6. Select the desired Tempus Pro monitor from the drop-down list of company-owned ECG devices. A gold lightning-bolt icon will then appear to the right. If the lightning-bolt icon does not appear, then AngelTrack has not yet been configured with the monitor's make and serial number, and so it cannot pull data for it.
  7. Click the gold lightning-bolt icon to retrieve the data from Philips/Corsium.
  8. Review the result message to verify that no error occurred. Then, carefully review the PCR Vitals and PCR ECG records that were created, filling in any datafields that AngelTrack could not scrape from the Philips case.
