AngelTrack's features are divided into groups and licensed separately. You can pick and choose freely from among its many capabilities.
The AngelTrack licensing system is buffet-style, allowing you to freely select the features and add-on capabilities you require.
Licensing Overview
Before proceeding, if you wish to read an overview of how AngelTrack licenses are purchased, managed, displayed, refunded, taxed, or expired, please refer to the Authorization and Licensing Guide.
Credits
AngelTrack's licensing system is based on credits. Every product core and every bundle of add-ons costs a certain number of credits.
To see what these costs are, visit your AngelTrack server's Feature Buffet page, which you can access by clicking the "Feature selection" link on the Authorization page.
If your AngelTrack licenses are purchased on a grandfathered Paypal subscription, then you do not have access to the Feature Buffet. To use it, you must cancel your Paypal subscription and switch your payments over to Stripe to use, by visiting the Authorization page and clicking the subscription status button to cancel it.
Free Credits
You get a certain number of free credits each month, when your product core (EMS / Fire / CAD+Billing) license renews.
The number of free credits you receive depends on your license size (Startup / Bronze / Copper / Silver / Electrum / Gold / Platinum); larger servers get more. To see how many you get, visit your Authorization page.
Free credits can be used to activate add-on feature bundles but not for product cores. We hope you use them to try out AngelTrack's many add-on capabilities.
The number of free credits given each month is subject to change without notice, solely at the discretion of AngelTrack LLC.
Paid Credits
Paid credits are those you purchased. They can be used to activate product cores and/or your add-on bundles.
You can buy as many paid credits as you think you need, at any time, and AngelTrack will apply them as necessary so that your selected feature bundles never fall below ten days' license remaining.
When AngelTrack applies your credits to keep your add-on feature bundles licensed, it consumes your free credits first, in an attempt to conserve your paid credits where possible.
The price of credits is subject to change without notice, solely at the discretion of AngelTrack LLC. If you wish to lock in today's prices for the next year, just request an annual purchase invoice from your salesperson.
Product Cores
These are AngelTrack's product cores:
- EMS core
- Fire core
- CAD + billing
The EMS core requires the CAD + billing core, whereas the Fire core can be used standalone (if you receive your trip data from a call center and thus have no dispatchers).
The number of credits required for the Fire core depends on the number of fire stations you have. For the other cores, the number of credits is fixed; it doesn't depend on your size or call volume. Instead, your call volume determines the cost of each credit. For example, a large agency and a small agency may both use 15 credits' worth of cores and features, but the small agency will pay less for each credit.
There is also special pricing for startups and volunteer agencies to help you get off to a running start!
Built-in Feature Bundles
When you license your product core(s), you get all built-in feature bundles too, for free. The built-in bundles represent capabilities which you could live without, but which AngelTrack LLC recommends to be used by all providers.
Customizable checklists + building inspections, for example, is a built-in feature bundle that you get free with your product core.
To review all the built-in feature bundles that you get, visit the Feature Buffet page by clicking the "Feature selection" link on the Authorization page. The built-in feature bundles are marked in green.
We add new features to AngelTrack all the time, so the number and composition of built-in feature bundles is subject to change without notice, solely at the discretion of AngelTrack LLC.
Add-on Feature Bundles
All other AngelTrack features -- those which are truly optional and depend on the circumstances of your operation -- are grouped into add-on bundles, separately licensed.
For example, if you want to use AngelTrack's CAD API and server-to-server delegation with other AngelTrack providers, there is an add-on feature bundle for that.
Don't worry, there's no hassle. You can activate any add-on feature bundle whenever you wish, and begin using it immediately, if either of the following are true:
- Your server has spare credits (either paid or free); or
- You have an active subscription, by which AngelTrack can pro-rate the days remaining in the billing cycle.
Otherwise your new feature bundle will remain unlicensed. You can purchase credits to activate it immediately; or, you can wait until your next regular license purchase, at which time AngelTrack will include the necessary additional credits in your purchase, and then the feature bundle will activate.
Subscriptions
You can set up an automatic subscription by choosing the "Recurring" option when you purchase your AngelTrack license.
AngelTrack will configure your subscription to purchase the minimum number of credits necessary to cover the features you've selected, taking account of the free credits you get each month so that you don't buy more credits than you need.
AngelTrack will then automatically adjust your subscription as needed, to consume any stored credits you already have and then purchase the minimum necessary new credits every 30 days. As a result, you might see your subscription occasionally go up or down by a credit or two. At any time you can review all your purchases, licenses, pro-rates, and comp days by visiting the Authorization page in your AngelTrack server.
If you later visit the feature buffet and activate or deactivate any feature bundles, AngelTrack will automatically re-adjust your subscription to purchase the minimum necessary credits, including any monthly free credits and any necessary pro-rate charge so that you can begin using your new feature bundles immediately.
You can suspend, un-suspended, or cancel your subscription at any time, please refer to the Authorization Guide to learn more. If you suspend or cancel your subscription, AngelTrack will continue to run normally until your current licenses and stored credits run out.
Deactivating a Product Core or Feature Bundle
If you de-activate a product core or addon-bundle, you may continue to use it until its license expires.
If its license has more than 30 days left, then its license will be shortened by 30 days, and its cost refunded to you as credits that you can use for other features. (Does not apply to grandfathered licenses.)
Refunded credits from deactivated product cores are always given as paid credits and therefore can be used for other product cores or add-on bundles, whereas refunded credits from deactivated add-on bundles are always given as free credits and therefore cannot be used for product cores.
If you deactivate your EMS core or Fire core, you can continue to work all calls already in the system (be they active or closed); the only thing you cannot do without a product core is book new calls. This allows you to finish out your call schedule, report completion, QA review, and billing and postprocess.
Grandfathered Features
If you were an AngelTrack user before the implementation of the Feature Buffet system in build 498, then you are grandfathered into all AngelTrack features at the prices you were paying beforehand, for a certain period of time. To see how long your grandfathered licenses will last, visit the Feature Buffet page by clicking the "Feature selection" link on the Authorization page.
You will not receive the monthly free credits during your grandfather period, since you will not need them. Nor will you receive a refund of credits if you deactivate a grandfathered feature license early.
At the end of the grandfather period, if you still want to utilize all add-on packages, you will need to purchase additional credits each month. Or, you can deactivate the add-on packages you aren't using, and perhaps your monthly free credits will be enough to pay for the rest.
